I heard that there is a mansion in Jacobean style open for tourists in Birmingham. I'd love to see it (I'm fond of architecture) but I don't know where it is and when it's open to the public.(give a different answer) .
The mansion you are describing sounds like the Aston Hall, the Jacobean house built in the 17th century, hosting a lot of interesting ceilings and friezes and vintage furniture. There are also paintings and textiles. It's north of the centre, on Trinity Road so you should get bus no 65 or take the train from New Street to Aston Station. It's only open in the afternoon.
