Car renting in The Hebrides

Posted 1 year ago by avatar connie in response to avatar bigduck's question: Should I take the car with me to the Hebrides or it's better to rent from there? (give a different answer) .

It might be pretty expensive to ship your car to the islands (more than ₤100 for a one-way crossing), so it's better to take the ferry by yourself and rent a car on the island (it's about ₤20 a day, go to Arnol Car Rentals on Lewis). Anyway, driving around on the islands can be pretty annoying because there are sheep all over the place and roads have only 1 track. So, better stick to walking!
