One of the best places to get a very cheap Japanese meal in london is the Ikkyu, on 7-9 Newport Pl, WC2. They serve sushi that costs 1.50 to 2.50 £, noodle dishes that are 5 - 8 £ and there's also an all-you-can-eat from 5 pm. The set lunches are also very good value.
