you've heard well... there's the Buddhapadipa Temple (14 Calonne Rd SW19), which was built by an association of young Buddhists in Britain and opened more then two decades ago. to get there take the tube or train to Wimbledon and then the bus 93 up to Eimbledon Parkside and then Calonne Rd leads off it on the right.
