There are some Rail Cards which you can buy if you're under 25 but you have to proof this (make sure you have your passport or something with you). With these cards you get 30% off at most of the tickets and at some ferry trips. it will cost you ₤18. But if you're gonna do a lot of traveling than I think it will save you some good money.
