Taking your bike with you on the plane to London

Posted 1 year ago by aoife in response to avatar frank's question: I have a tricky question. can i fly over my bike to London? It would really help me a lot to have it there with me :)) (give a different answer) .

I'm talking from experience here. Yes you can. The only problem is if you pay for it or not. You can take it for free if it doesn't go over the weight limit, which is about 20 kg and of course if you don't have any extra luggage. But if all your luggage (bike included) exceeds this limit then you have to pay. Some airlines don't accept this and impose a fix tax for carrying a bike (like 50 $ or more).
