Sorry, but there's no hostels in town. I was also surprised but luckily I found this cheap but still decent place to stay called Harlton Guesthouse. It's a B&B in the Uplands neighborhood, on 89 King Edward Road (it's about 1 mile west of the centre). I payed ₤12 a night, which was ok for me. Here's their phone: 466938.
