Still inhabited, yes, but you can visit in from March to October, there's no problem. Yet, I hope you won't be disappointed: it's not actually a castle, but a luxurious house, designed by the same guy who projected the Blenheim palace near Oxford. The Howard residence has a nice gallery with portraits of the family signed by artists like Holbein (the Long Gallery), a lobby 70 feet high, called The Great Hall, and that's about all...
